For the past half-century Larry Frazier has sung hundreds of professional performances of leading operatic and concert bass roles throughout the United States and in Verona and Venice, Italy. He holds undergraduate and master’s degrees from Louisiana State University, where he was graduate assistant conductor of the LSU A Capella Choir and the Doctor of Music Degree from Florida State University. In preparation for his career Frazier was an apprentice artist with The Santa Fe Opera, a first-place winner in the Texoma Region as well as national finalist in the National Association of Teachers of Singing Artist Award Auditions, and a first-place district winner and regional finalist in The Metropolitan Opera Auditions. In 2012, Dr. Frazier retired as Professor of Music and Director of Opera at the University of West Georgia after almost a quarter-century of service. Previously, he taught voice and related courses at Texas Tech, Tennessee Tech, the University of Mississippi and Northwestern (Louisiana) State. He is a member, emeritus, of The National Association of Teachers of Singing. A life-long church musician, he is president and chief hymn officer of FMC Resources, Inc. This non-profit corporation is dedicated to promoting the connection of faith and music, primarily through the traditional hymn.
