Lara Carter is a well-known american psychotherapist, born in Houston (Texas) in 1969. Lara's passion for psychology stems from a traumatic event that she experienced during her adolescence. Like many girls of her age, Lara fell victim to the classic relationship with a narcissistic boy during high school, which severely tested her self-esteem for four years. This great suffering pushed Lara to study in depth the mechanisms that led her to depend almost completely on a cold and selfish boy. So, at the age of 18, Lara chose to enroll in the psychology faculty at the University of Texas, where she concluded her brilliant studies with a degree in psychotherapy. In her free time, Lara enjoys traveling, reading mystery novels, and taking continuing education courses in the relational field. Lara currently runs her own therapeutic center in Houston, where she and her staff treat hundreds of codependent patients each year. The author carries out her life's mission through her books: to help as many people as possible to free themselves from insecurity and co-dependency, thus regaining full confidence in themselves.
