Starting his filmmaking career straight out of undergrad from NYU’s film school, Ken was hired by VH1 as a writer/director of on-air promos. His thesis film “The Waiters” was the ticket that got him into professional production but Ken has earned his place in the independent filmmaking ecosystem with “Serious Laundry” and “Make My Mark”, his two award-winning feature films, as well as multiple music videos, short films, and an eye-opening New York Times’ published Op-Doc on the emergency exit alarm doors in New York City’s subway system. While teaching film production at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, Ken realized that 20 years of experience were not enough to satisfy his hunger for filmmaking and the emotional rollercoaster of writing, directing, producing, and editing a feature film. So he did the only logical thing, went on to make his two award-winning films and decided to distill his expertise into a single-malt, smooth filmmaking book for beginners and intermediates.
