Juliette Watt is a produced playwright and an award-winning soap opera writer for ABC Television’s One Life to Live and Loving, garnering two Writers Guild Awards and a nomination for a Daytime Emmy. As a playwright, her acclaimed play Night of the Bear was produced by Tony Award–winning actress Carole Shelley at The Studio Theater, New York City. Juliette’s second play, The Invitation, was produced by The Barrow Group at the American Place Theater, New York City. Juliette’s accomplishments include: serving as a stunt horse rider for MGM studios; a fifteen-year career as a cabaret singer, touring the world with a successful one-woman show; working as a Playboy Bunny in London, then later appearing as the headliner in their cabaret lounges in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City, and London, England. For the last twenty-three years, she has been an ATP pilot and master flight instructor, teaching all levels in nineteen different aircrafts. In 2003, she worked for Best Friends Animal Society as the face/spokesperson of the organization during national events. In 2005, in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Juliette was dispatched by Best Friends Animal Society to New Orleans, where she spent a year flying her own airplane on animal rescue and transport missions—reuniting pets all over the country with their people, and taking homeless pets to new homes, rescue centers, or shelters. She was also the spokesperson for all media coverage. From August of 2005 to March of 2006, seven thousand animals were rescued and cared for by the Best Friends team. Juliette is also an active member of the Denver Speakers Bureau, performing workshops and speaking engagements around the country, as well as coaching clients on compassion fatigue. Juliette currently lives in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, with her husband, three rescue dogs, three rescue horses, and two goats.
