Jonell Kirby Cash was born in Toccoa, Georgia. Jonell was raised in a family of seven children. In school, she felt as if there was more that education could offer her if only she allowed her natural curiosity to carry her forward. Encouraged by progressive parents, she graduated from Franklin County High School in 1947. Without a look back, Jonell enrolled in Reinhardt Junior College and graduated in 1949. All around her, young women were making families and emulating the women in their lives, but Jonell thought that she had more to learn. In 1953 she earned her BS in HEC, (now Family and Consumer Sciences) and went on to complete her Masters Degree in Education in 1957. Jonell herself is a mother and a grandmother. She is an adoptive parent, a stepmom and step-grandmom. She is an aunt and a sister as well as an educator and philosopher. Because Jonell is a woman of great expectations and lives with an absence of fear, she approaches love differently than others. Writing from a fully engaged perspective, Jonell brings her characters into a robust existence that is unique as well as introspective. A Ring A Dance A Second Chance Book of which each chapter brings questions of personal growth, entertains the expectations of family members, and causes the reader to challenge their own life thoughtfully.
