John Wright once quit his job in a bank and spent 6 months living in the remote northern wilderness of Finland, perfect what was his hobby and enjoying the solitude that the area offered. On his return to his home in New Zealand, he decided to change his life completely and sold his house to buy a carpenter’s workshop, which he expanded to include a small home. He now works with wood every day and has written, Woodworking, which is a tribute to what he learned about wood, life and himself. John lives in Wellington, New Zealand, with his Finnish wife Anya, whom he met while abroad. He spends his days working on new projects, surfing in the clear waters and loving life.
