John Thurman, M.Div., M.A., is an accomplished author, speaker, and therapist with over fifty years of experience in the helping profession. He has spent fifty years standing with people in their worst moments. As an Army Chaplain for 22 years, he served in the U.S. Army's Burn Unit, helped develop religious support plans for Desert Storm, and provided ministry support following the Gander Air Crash. As a crisis responder, he has been on the ground at 280 critical incidents, from natural disasters to mass shootings.

He has logged more than 70,000 hours of counseling across five decades of ministry.
What sets John apart from other voices in the Christian living space is not only his credentials, which include two master's degrees and suicide-prevention training at the Mayo Clinic, but also the fact that he has personally walked through loss, depression, and PTS.
