John Kiramis is a former police lieutenant and detective sergeant who served law in enforcement for thirty-two years. Upon his retirement from the force, he sought and won political office before going on to become the ’Mayor of Foster City,’ a town in the San Francisco Bay Area viewed as a part of the Silicon Valley. John was born in San Francisco and raised in a part of the city known as Glen Park. Hailing from a big city where there is always adventure and exposure to local history, diversified lifestyles, and a myriad of cultures, have over the years imbued him with a unique intellectual perspective to write. He began working at a very early age; he did all kinds of different things, from delivering three different San Francisco newspapers and collecting empty soda bottles for redemption to caddying at The Olympic Club as well as waiting on restaurant tables throughout San Francisco best known to John as simply "The City". One of his favorites jobs was delivering refurbished secondhand TV sets for Max Singer at Singer Electric located on the southwest corner of Haight and Asbury in the 60's and early 70's.. Today, John lives in the Mohave Desert in northern Los Angeles County along with his wife Kate, a special education teacher for the LAUSD, and one-eyed black cat Anthony who John rescued from drowning in the pool. John enjoys his middling attempts at cooking, daily exercise to ward off the encroachment of age, and keeping abreast of what goes on in the world as fodder for his writing.
