My background is in communications. I worked in radio for over 33 years and during a brief timeout, I went back to school to finish out a long ago abandoned degree. Part of the curriculum was an English class where an assignment was to write a short story. I wrote about meeting a long lost friend and the reactions to that meeting. The teacher told me she thought I might have some talent as far as writing was concerned and encouraged me to write more. More to see if I could do it rather than an ambition to produce a volume for public consumption I wrote a short novel. I was full of beginner mistakes but I found was enjoyable. Over the next ten years, I spent refining the art and craft of writing--by writing. I also emersed myself in all aspects of writing. I was involved in Front Range Fiction Writers in many aspects including being the president of the group for 3 years. Currently, I have two non-fiction titles "How to be a Radio/TV Announcer" and "The Secrets of Radio and TV." which are books devoted to those who want to be in the industry from a no-nonsense perspective. This is for a very restrictive audience but can save a lot of time and money for those who desire a career in broadcasting. The second nonfiction book is a result of my years in radio and is called "Great Rock and Roll Stories From A to Z." It deals with the stories behind many of the hits from 1954-1974. I also have 3 fiction titles: "Neon Nights", a police procedural set in 1948 Las Vegas. It also is available as an audiobook on Audiable.com. "Fast Cars, Highbanks and Homicide" is a stock car murder mystery set in the world of stock car racing. It is in production to be an audio book. The last fiction book "The Last Hippie Summer" is somewhat a memoir set in 1973. Also slated as an audio book. Several titles I plan on offering as print versions but that is in the future. To me, the true enjoyment of writing has been in writing the books and I hope to share this with my readers. In my spare time, I enjoy competitive whip cracking and I've posted a video for your enjoyment about a trip from hell to Las Vegas.
