Come with me. Feel the wind on your face, the snow crunching beneath your boots and relax in the glow of the bothy fire at the end of the day. My aim is to take the reader with me to the remote parts of the Scottish Highlands that I love. My joy in life is to explore wild places. I’ve explored Africa, Canada and the Alps but my greatest passion remains in the Scottish Highlands where I have made my home. I write about the places I travel with humor and compassion. I want to show my readers the lonely hills I walk and share with them my love of bothies the remote Scottish mountain shelters, unique to the Highlands. My first book is The Last Hillwalker. A look back over my life of 40 years in the Scottish hills. I’ll transport you to ice climbs on the savage north face of Ben Nevis. Come with me and my friends as we explore the Lake District as schoolboys and later as we battle with the toughest walk in Britain, The Pennine way. Journey with me further north, deep into the Highlands of Scotland and experience my wild wanderings amongst majestic summer mountains and later in the wild Cairngorms where my passion for ice climbing took me. These wild places are the places I’ve come to love, let me share them with you. Bothy Tales takes you into the bothies of the Highlands and tells wild tales about theses remote enchanting places and the people who visit them. Some of the stories are true, some are from my imagination but I hope they will all enthral you and make you laugh in equal measure. Share my passion for these remote places and I promise you’ll want to visit them too. Sky Dance is a novel set in the land of hills, bothies and glens. It is a comic novel, that will give you lots of laughs with larger than life characters. Sky Dance is funny and moving, but also has a message. It explores what we have done to our landscape and the creatures who inhabit it. It talks about bringing back extinct species and giving back to nature what we have taken away. My journey has been a wild ride. Come and share it and let me show you secrets you will never forget.
