Joanne van Os lives on a yacht in Darwin, Northern Territory. Her best-selling memoir, Outback Heart, about her life with the real Crocodile Dundee, was her first book. Joanne followed this with three successful children’s novels - adventure mystery stories set in the north of Australia. In between sailing expeditions to remote places, she delivers writing workshops to schools, researches and writes. Her latest book, her first novel written for adults, focuses on the effects of a single battle of the First World War – the battle of Fromelles - on several generations of a Sydney family. It is due for publication in 2014.
