Jim Ware, a graduate of UCLA and Fuller Theological Seminary, is a longtime book enthusiast who grew up savoring childhood classics like TOM SAWYER, HUCKLEBERRY FINN, THE MERRY ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD, and KING ARTHUR AND HIS KNIGHTS OF THE ROUND TABLE. He's the author of GOD OF THE FAIRY TALE and FINDING GOD IN THE HOBBIT, and co-author (with Kurt Bruner) of the best-selling FINDING GOD IN THE LORD OF THE RINGS, FINDING GOD IN THE LAND OF NARNIA, and THE PURPOSE OF PASSION: DANTE'S EPIC VISION OF ROMANTIC LOVE. A Celtic music enthusiast, he enjoys playing the guitar, the hammered dulcimer, and other stringed instruments with family and friends. He and his wife, Joni, are the parents of six children. Jim's latest effort, THE STONE OF DESTINY, is a work of fantasy-fiction for readers of all ages who love imaginative tales. It's the story of young Morgan Izaak, a twelve-year-old boy who is obsessed with his missing father's ancient books about alchemy and the legendary Philosopher's Stone. When Morgan and his best friend, Eny Ariello, find out about another mysterious stone that may be hidden somewhere in their hometown -- Lia Fail, the Irish Stone of Destiny -- he's determined to find it because he thinks it's the last hope for someone he holds dear. But Morgan's not the only one looking for the Stone, and by the time the two kids realize there's trouble afoot, Morgan has betrayed their friendship, strange creatures are loose in the land, and the Stone is lost ... perhaps forever. "I wrote THE STONE OF DESTINY," says Jim, "for two reasons. First, I love fantasy, and I wanted to treat my readers to a rollicking good story. Second, I was hoping to invent a tale that illustrates the distinction between faith and 'magic' - in other words, the difference between trust and a grab for power." A brand-new, never-before-released sequel to THE STONE OF DESTINY, entitled THE SWORD OF PARACELSUS, will be published in serial form on Jim's PILGRIMAGINATION website/blog beginning May 23, 2014. PILGRIMAGINATION, a venue for sharing the author's original stories, tales, poems, reflections, and observations of life, can be accessed at http://pilgrimagination.com/ Watch the blog posts for announcements about the upcoming unveiling of THE SWORD OF PARACELSUS.
