The history of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church or "Mormons") is a mystery to many curious outsiders, particularly the history of temples and LDS temple doctrine. When Jennifer Mackley was young, her mother shared with her the now famous account of Wilford Woodruff's vision of the Founding Fathers in the St. George Temple. Her curiosity about Wilford's experience led her to read his journals, discourses, and available letters. Over the course of 15 years of intensive research into his life and the lives of his contemporaries, Jennifer discovered some fascinating information. "Wilford Woodruff's Witness: The Development of Temple Doctrine," published in 2014, is the result of her journey through LDS Church history. In 2015, the Spanish version "Desarrollo de la Doctrina del Templo: Testimonio de Wilford Woodruff" was published, and in 2022, a new enhanced version with links to images and transcriptions of Wilford Woodruff's original documents now available at wilfordwoodruffpapers.org. In 2020 Jennifer co-founded the Wilford Woodruff Papers Foundation with the mission of digitizing, transcribing, and publishing all of Wilford Woodruff's extant documents. Her hope in sharing his records is to present the of the restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the experiences of one who was a witness to the process. Jennifer is a native of Seattle, Washington. She and her husband Carter are partners in the law firm of Mackley & Mackley, PLLC and are the parents of three miraculous children.
