Jean Flynn was born in Oklahoma in the 1930s, something her husband, author Robert Flynn, discouraged her from confessing. She was a teacher and school librarian who began writing because she couldn’t find many books that were inspirational for young women or were about women heroes. The subjects of her biographies ranged from strong female figures (Annie Oakley, Texas Women who Dared to be First) to people from Texas History (Henry B. Gonzalez: Rebel with a Cause). Jean passed away in 2013 due to injuries from a car accident. Her husband Bob and grandson Colin Bass are working with JoSara MeDia to bring her biographies for adults and young adults to ebook and audiobook formats.
