As authors, we have to walk that long road from thinking what the story will be to putting it on paper to polishing it until it shines. I have two children who are really my champions. My daughter was the first person to use my poems in her English class a year later it was picked up by a professor at Lincoln University to use in her class. Those were my proudest moments. My mother once told me that she was very proud to walk into a book store and see my books on the shelf. Me too Mom. me too. I often have writers block followed by short burst of writing frenzy that I have to quickly take advantage of. I jot down ideas on napkins in restaurants and on the back of store receipts because I can never remember to put the little writing books my daughter gives to me in my hand bag when I switch.
