James Johnson was born in 1958, and left school in 1976. By the age of thirty-one it became clear that self-employment would always be his preferred option. The two occasions of being made redundant certainly strengthened his resolve to work for himself. Although he completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (1988), the lack of teaching opportunities in Aberdeen during the late nineteen eighties resulted in a different career path. As a self-employed driving instructor and then as a taxi driver, James experienced plenty of variety in life. For almost twenty years he has involved himself in writing books. Retirement has come earlier than expected, so expect more books!
