Jade is an author, speaker, and advocate for the underdog. Throughout her life, she worked at homeless teen shelters, gave HIV-AIDS educational instruction at high schools, co-ran an HIV hotline at her university at the height of the AIDS epidemic, volunteered at a free women’s clinic in downtown Minneapolis for the underprivileged, and volunteered at an AIDS hospice. Once a former E-4 specialist in active-duty Army and Reserves, she switched directions and earned her ASN from Gordon College of Nursing in Georgia and her BSN at Metropolitan State University in Minnesota. She went on to earn her Doctorate of Medicine from Ross University School of Medicine in the Commonwealth of Dominica. Jade traveled “strange roads” but found bliss later in life with her husband, Alan. After the miracle of being able to be a mother again at age fifty, she loved staying home with her four young children. With her overabundance of energy, she earned her real estate license and learned how to develop property. She is the proud mother of eight children in a blended family, and she is very active in her church and her testimony of Christ. Now semi-retired, Jade loves to read, write, educate herself from the University of YouTube, train her two rescue dogs, Rocky Balboa and Twinkie, and especially her four German Shepherd protection pups, Kenna, Dylan, Sniper, and Yelena. They are “fuzzy bears” but prepared to protect. Of course, the rescue, Twinkie, is the one with attitude. She thinks she is married to Jade’s beloved husband, Alan, and sees Jade as “the help.”
