Jack Lugar is a former sitcom writer who traded Hollywood dreams for a normal Midwestern life. Jack teaches storytelling and screenwriting at Anderson University where he oversees the Cinema & Media Arts major. Lugar's most recent work is a young adult series about teenage-girl in the realm of Norse Mythology and written under the name J.R. Lugar. The first book, Sessi and the Gate to Hel, introduces the reader to Sessi Nilsson as she discovers a world far beyond what she'd ever dreamed of growing up in the Pacific Northwest. The second book, Sessi and the Race to Odin, finds Sessi entered a deadly race to win Odinsword. The third and final book in the Sessi Nilsson Series, Sessi and the Path to Lyra, follows Sessi as she reconnects with her mother for the first time since Sessi was only four years old. Previously, Lugar created the children's chapter book series, Katz Pajamas, which is about an extraordinary cat detective in the town of New Purrt, Catifornia. Currently, there are three books in the Katz Pajamas series - The Miss Kitty Mystery, The Haunted House of Hashimoto, and The Catastic Carnival Caper. His first book, The Starving Artist's Diet provides a humorous look at a mostly absurd form of dieting, eating what you can barely afford, while lampooning all the different diet fads. Lugar's second book, Hollywood Break-In, which he co-wrote with his wife Elisabeth, provides a detailed account of not only how to land your first Hollywood job, but how to actually move to the West Coast and survive. Hollywood Break-In provides a real action plan for those who have stars in their eyes.
