Born a writer, having lived as a writer, I never thought I could actually BE a writer. But then things happened and one day I was getting reviews like this one:

"[Death of heaven] ... has a Books of Blood vibe [referring of course to Clive Barker's seminal horror books], which really works well. It's in these tales that the author's writing ability shines. He demonstrates a lovely turn of phrase and some of the writing is almost poetic in its beauty." From Michael Brookes, Author & Reviewer. See: http://deathofheaven.com

I'll tell you what I tell everyone about that book. Read the first full chapter, The Conqueror Worm. It's about two young boys having an adventure that changes the rest of their lives. If you don't like it, stop reading. But if you do, expect that it gets a lot more scary and disturbing as you continue reading.

Since the start of the new Millennium plus well, nearly twenty years, I have been writing from my home in Suquamish, Washington where Chief "Seattle" is buried. For the past couple of years now after I sold that home of sixteen years, I'm tucked away on an inlet in Bremerton, Washington, just across Puget Sound from Seattle.

In recent years I've been working with local friend and filmmaker, Kelly Hughes on his film projects and gearing up myself to film my own projects through my LGN Productions company. Founded in 1993, it has been on a very long hiatus. I am now among other things, producing new audiobooks of my writings through that entity. My first two books were published through Zilyon Publishing.

So far, I've survived a rather strange and at times, wonderful life.

I left my parent's home at seventeen in the hope I would go out into the world and do things that would allow me sweet reflection when I got older, so I could use those experiences to write great stories. A few years ago I realized that very year after leaving home, I had an experience worthy of a screenplay and so I wrote my true crime story (currently marketing to studios) tentatively titled, The Teenage Bodyguard. I've gotten very good reviews and coverage so far after a few years of research and fine tuning.

I started reading young. I read a lot of science fiction but also love science fact. By fifth grade I found Aristotle and other great minds at the local library and loved reading our home encyclopedia.

I got into a lot of trouble as a kid and between being "grounded" a lot until I was only trusted for a while to go to the local library on my bike. That expanded my world immensely, especially when I found the adult section of the library, which was how I found Aristotle.

Once I got into college after the Air Force, I discovered people really liked my writings, a lot. After graduation I started sending stories off to sell. People started buying them. Now I have a a couple of books out, a bunch of ebooks, some audiobooks and just started working with a voice actor, and a bunch of screenplays, which I studied writing at Western Washington University, where I got my BA in psychology.

Do what you love to do, they say. It's a good saying.
Compromise only to stay alive, or to continue your art.
In the end it's a short life, so live it well and leave an enduring legacy.

My original screenplays include as I said, The Teenage Bodyguard. A Horror/Comedy titled, "Gray and Lover: The Hearth Tales Incident" Semi-Finalist in the Circus Road Films Screenplay Contest. It's the story of two Steampunk demon hunter women named Gray and Lover. It's about a famous Horror writer, his two friends, his disloyal wife, a murderously defective Demon and what "really" happened on that fateful day when Osama Bin Laden died, on May 2, 2011 in Abbottabad, Pakistan.

Our demon hunters may very well have adventures in a sequel as they seem to be very popular among those who have read this screenplay. A sequel that dovetails with the sequel to my book, DEATH OF HEAVEN. And vice versa.

I am currently shopping around my new collection, Anthology of Evil II, sequel to my first collection of short horror and sci fi fiction with a set of my newer works, including the novella, The Unwritten. A tale of three very different universes that come together.

In the end, I can only hope that people enjoy my works as much as I've enjoyed writing them.
