J.W. Davis grew up in Southern Illinois. He is currently living in Washington. J.W. Davis studied history in college and has an enduring love for Bronze Age cultures. Many of the ideas for creating his world arose from his studies in ancient cultures. The author has struggled with chronic illness in recent years including surviving cancer. He retired from teaching history and moved from Colorado to Washington in 2018 where he works on his writing and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. He is currently working on his third book in the Bow Maiden Trilogy. "When people ask me what age would you have loved to live in, or think you should have been born in, I always tell them the one I am in now. This age has witnessed so many technological marvels and opportunities, that no past era could compete. As a historian, I know how awful life was, even in the not so distant past. The only thing romantic about the past comes from an author's imagination."
