She is an involuntary insomniac who works as a medical doctor in a small Southern town and writes in her free time. She writes fiction that paints a human likeness upon the faceless and gifts a voice to the voiceless via her coming-of-age adventure stories spiced with a hint of romance, and scientific and supernatural twists. Her novels feature an epic scale and a historical hook. They are raw and gut-wrenching while splashed with comedy and sweetness and could be described as The Da Vinci meets Anne of Green Gables and Everything, Everything. Brown is a self-proclaimed nerd and loves all things scientific. Her love of science is reflected in her research at Los Alamos National Laboratory, the site for the development of the atomic bomb. Eating healthy and delicious food, reading, hiking, and cuddling with dogs—especially Faith, her Maltese, give her joy. Two of her favorite works of fiction are The Amber Room and Prussian Blue.
