Isabelle Müller (born Gaucher) was born in Tours (France) in 1964 as the youngest of 5 children of a Vietnamese mother and a French father. She grew up in poor conditions in the confines of a French village. After graduating from high school, she studied languages at the François Rabelais University and at the Centre d'Etudes Pratiques de Langes Vivantes (Tours, France). With her mother Dau Thi Cuc, known as "Loan", she traveled to Southeast Asia in the 1990s and got to know her Vietnamese roots and the stories associated with them. In 2009, Krüger Verlag (S. Fischer) published Müller's biography "Phoenix Daughter - Hope was my way". One of the topics it covered, sexual abuse, had a big impact. The author encouraged victims of sexual abuse to speak up. She read to audiences in 8 German federal states for three and a half years, was guest on TV and radio, and was invited for her commitment by Federal President Gauck. The next biography “Loan – From the Life of a Phoenix” reached the final of the Amazon Kindle Storyteller Award in 2015. In 2016, the author founded the LOAN Foundation, which realizes educational projects for ethnic minority children in Vietnam. In 2018, “Loan – From the Life of a Phoenix” was published in Vietnam by TRE Publishing House (4th edition in 2023 by General Publisher HCMC). In 2022, “Phoenix Daughter – Hope was my way” was published by General Publisher HCMC, as well as the children’s book with the topic of overcoming grief “Hip Hop in the Land of Ellsaby”. In 2023, the same publisher published the children's book “Hip Hop and the Golden Forest”. Various versions of the children's books (German, English, French, Vietnamese) are available i.a. on amazon. The book “Vom Glück des Zuhörens: Wie uns gute Beziehungen stark machen” (Knaur) was published in Germany on October 2nd, 2023, which Isabelle Müller wrote together with the famous emergency doctor and Spiegel bestseller author Dr. Lisa Federle. A Spiegel bestseller as well. Isabelle Müller is happily married to the German IT entrepreneur Stephan Müller since 1992. They have two children together.
