I am, together with Michael Mainelli, co-author of the highly-acclaimed new book on real commerce "The Price Of Fish". Together we have also written the best-selling novel "Clean Business Cuisine" and the practical book "IT for the Not-for-Profit Sector". In 1994, we co-founded Z/Yen, the City of London's leading commercial think-tank, to promote societal advance through better finance and technology. I specialise in strategic planning, systematic performance improvement, governance and ethics. For example, I helped to conceive and launch the award-winning joint venture, Charityshare and regularly lead award-winning work, such as Ideal Hardware's HR Award for its rewards framework and the Marine Stewardship Council's Best Practice award for its strategic planning and governance review. I helped to conceive The Financial Laboratory (a joint venture which included Barclays Capital, Royal & Sun Alliance, Silicon Graphics and others). I also led a ground-breaking study into central counterparty risk for the London Stock Exchange. I am currently working mostly with civil society organisations, including membership organisations, charities and several National Health Service (NHS) Foundation Trusts, initiating joint ventures and the use of predictive analytics for organisational effectiveness. I am a former Chair of the judging panel for the UK National Payroll Giving Awards and also BCS The Chartered Institute for IT's Ethics Group. In my copious spare time (ha ha) I enjoy watching theatre, listening to music, playing tennis and relaxing obliviously at cricket.
