I gave up screenwriting about twenty years ago and went back to being a criminal defense attorney. Before that I directed a low budget film and had been a prospector on the Colorado border. I have worked in the steel mills in Pittsburgh, and on the docks in Kodiak, Alaska. Somewhere in between those places I ran a ski lodge in Colorado and had a key to the bar. I was very popular on Sunday mornings when the liquor stores were still closed. I lived in Buenos Aires for awhile and speak the Spanish language badly. I have been to most places in the world I ever wanted to go and learned something from everyone I ever met. I always return to New Mexico when I get tired, it is as close to a home as I ever get.
