Helena Andrews-Dyer is a staff writer at The Washington Post, covering popular culture. Before joining The Post Helena was a contributing editor at xoJane, a digital women’s magazine founded by Jane Pratt. Helena’s work has appeared in Oprah Magazine, Marie Claire, Glamour, The New York Times, Essence, and OUT. “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Scandal” creator Shonda Rhimes optioned Helena's first book, the memoir-in-essays “Bitch is the New Black,” as a feature film for Fox Searchlight Pictures. Rhimes described the book as “outrageously funny and heartbreakingly honest.” Helena lives in the District of Columbia with her husband and two daughters.
