ABOUT GUNNAR FOX Gunnar Fox has a track record of teaching students how to earn top grades - while still having a life in college. In college he was elected President of the Student Council, named Dean's Distinguished Graduate and received the Outstanding University Student award. Gunnar later enrolled at Stanford Law School, where he served as Associate Editor of the Stanford Law Review. WHY LISTEN TO GUNNAR? Gunnar Fox will show you how professors think, what makes them tick, and what they really expect from you. Gunnar was a hot shot in college. But he wasn't born one. As Gunnar says, "Show me a college hot shot and I'll show you a great mentor in that student's life." Gunnar had many mentors and he had a bag of tricks and hacks the minute he walked in the door at college. Four years later he was holding an acceptance letter to his dream law school. "But college success is not just about hard work," Gunnar says. "And few 'A' students are geniuses with special mental powers. You have to trust me... They just have the best information." KICK ASS IN COLLEGE: NO FEAR/NO STRESS/MORE A'S/MORE FUN As a student development specialist at the University of Texas, Gunnar was assigned responsibility for the "at risk" student population. Let's be honest: nobody wanted this job. These were students who had been written off and were expected to crash and burn after a year or so. History suggested that few of them would ever graduate. These were capable, clever kids with big dreams. And yet they had been defeated by college. Many of them were just hanging around like demotivated zombies, just waiting to receive their failing grades so they could go home in shame. (Think "The Walking Dead" with backpacks.) But Gunnar had other plans for them. To the amazement of most everyone, his easy-to-use toolbox of study hacks and life strategies energized these students, decreasing their failure rate by a whopping 65 percent. Not just a few of them graduated -- busloads did. Pretty soon their failure rate was no higher than the rest of the student population! People said, "Holy cow, Gunnar! You oughtta write a book!" ...After a couple more years of testing and tweaking the first edition of "Kick Ass in College" was born. The new expanded second edition is now better than ever and impacting lives every day. Kamilya's story is an example: "I absolutely love Kick Ass in College. I have read the book twice before, and now for the third time. I re-read it before each semester, and I have been kicking ass ever since. I had to leave school with a 1.5 G.P.A. but when I came back my grades jumped to a 3.4. I graduated with a 3.8! The book is wonderful and I recommend it to every college student I know!" ~K. Williams, Bowie State University | 5.0 out of 5 stars When reasonably motivated students apply Gunnar's methods their potential for success in college and beyond is unlimited. But as Gunnar says, "Don't worry if your confidence is shaky or you feel a bit underprepared. Just bring an open mind and trust the tips. They will work for you." OVER A DECADE IN THE TRENCHES WITH STUDENTS, PROFESSORS AND PARENTS... Over the last decade Gunnar has lectured extensively in Ivy League schools, state schools, community colleges, high schools, prep schools, law schools, international schools, and everywhere in between. Gunnar is an internationally recognized curriculum design and distance-learning consultant. After working for several international law firms and multinational corporations, Gunnar founded a global consultancy serving universities and education enterprises. In addition to "Kick Ass in College" Gunnar Fox has also written the "University Success Plan" series for international students. * * * * * Gunnar Fox divides his time between Dallas, Texas and Bangkok, Thailand. He loves learning new things and follows a Paleo/Primal approach to health and fitness. Look for "Kick Ass at Work" to be released in June 2015. Check out www.KickAssInCollege.com Feeling social?
