I have always loved writing and used to create my own books when I was younger. My favourite book was The Faraway Tree by Enid Blyton as I liked the idea of there being a different magical land at the top of the tree every day. Although I constantly looked for such a tree I never found one. When I had my daughters I used to read picture books to them every day. I loved that quiet time when it was just me and them, and the magical world we could escape into. As a result, I started to write picture books. I have had seven picture books published to date - The Teddy Bear Scare, Happy Birthday Santa, The Smallest Hero, You Can't Eat A Princess, You Can't Scare A Princess, Pinkabella And The Goldmother, and the Children's History of Leeds. I've written chapter books for older children - The Magic Library Series. I'm working on a series for middle-grade readers. My favourite author is Terry Pratchett, he has created the most wonderful world in his Discworld books.
