Mr. Ashie originally from Ghana, West Africa, is an engineer, musician, songwriter, arranger, music producer and music videos creator. In his first collection of short stories, "Gulf of Guinea", elements of his broad interests from West African history to afrobeat and highlife dance bands, show up to light up a number of the characters in the five stories of the book. Strong women are featured in each of these stories, reflecting the mothers, aunties and sisters he knew growing up in Ghana. Throughout the years, his love of music has continued with live performances and studio recordings of popular West African music, pop, and smooth jazz originals he created starting in Accra, Ghana, right next to the shores of the Gulf of Guinea. The culture and heritage of his youth in West Africa, are still a staple in his writing, and remain the stimulus and basis for upcoming short stories and books!
