Fred Lichtenberg is a native New Yorker and world traveler who resides with his wife in Jupiter, Florida. After spending a career as a Senior Field Agent with the IRS, Lichtenberg changed gears from crunching numbers to creating fictitious villains and heroes. The Art of Murder (formerly Hunter's World), the first in the Hank Reed Mystery Series, begins with the murder of a celebrity who moved to a small community on Long Island where Hank is Chief of Police. Lichtenberg's second book, Murder on the Rocks, takes Hank Reed (now a Suffolk County Detective) from a case in Paris France, to Newport, Rhode Island, in search of a missing person presumably involved in a whistleblower investigation. An unexpected romance complicates Hank's life and leads him to new and shocking discoveries that twist the case sideways. The Edge of Murder, Lichtenberg's third book, shifts Hank from a detective to a private investigator, where he searches for a missing woman in South Florida and falls into a quagmire of deceit, betrayal, and murder. Lichtenberg's fourth mystery, The Bridge to Murder, is Hank Reed's most personal and challenging case, when the sister of his childhood friend, who disappeared twenty-five years ago and charged with the murder of a young woman under the Whitestone Bridge, receives an anonymous letter claiming her brother's innocence. As Hank plunges into the cold case, he quickly realizes there is more to the story. As he relentlessly investigates, sinister players from the past work against him. Will Hank expose them before they end the investigation and his life? Lichtenberg's stand-alone novels include: Double Trouble, Murder 1040: The Final Audit, Deadly Heat at the Cottages, and Reired: Now What? Lichtenberg also wrote The Second Time Around... Again, a touching and humorous one-act play about finding love in a nursing home, performed at the Lake Worth Playhouse. Lichtenberg is an active member of the Mystery Writers of America and International Thriller Writers.
