When I was young, my favorite book was a collection of old fairy tales which I read over and over. I couldn't get enough of 'The Ice Queen' or 'The Twelve Dancing Princesses,' and even the ghastly "Juniper Tree.' I can remember the cover of the old book clearly, even the feel of the cloth-bound cover is still on my fingertips. Those tales drove me through my childhood and I carry their messages with me still. My childhood, (and adulthood) has been richly blessed by parents who brought books home to us- who read to us, wrapped up in blankets on a summer porch as the tree frogs sang us to sleep. Through the stress of daily life, I try to return to that summer porch over and over again, to recapture the soothing voice of a kind reader, whisking away my brother, sister and myself to a world of wonder, where perils are healed, lessons are learned, and a powerful reunion is indeed, the best of all possible worlds. These are the themes I try to capture in my romance novels, and I hope you will enjoy the time you spend in my fictitious world of Cobweb Corners, New Hampshire. My next book in the Cobweb Corners serial is ready! "The Girl with Flowers in her Hair" has been published by the great folks at Black Lyon Publishing. You can expect a heart filled novel with a dash of magic-realism. Tony Award winning playwright, Christopher Durang, says my heroine, Lorelei Bradley "is a unique and magical...as entrancing as the cupcakes she bakes. With a delicious plot, it is surprisingly funny as well." I couldn't be more thrilled and honored! I am currently writing the third installment in this series, which promises to be just as enchanting. And yes, i generally write with these two cats upon my lap...amazing animals! Stay tuned! (Psssst: I also write romances under the pen name Daniel Stephens. Check out my novel "Surfacing" published by the great folks at Wild Rose Press).
