Fran's Hugo- Nebula- and Locus-finalist novelette "The Jewel and Her Lapidary" was published by Tor.com in May 2016 and has been nominated for a 2016 Nebula award for Best Novelette, a Locus Award for Best Novelette Recommended, a Hugo Award for Best Novelette, and an LA Public Library Best Book.

Fran's short stories have been finalists for Hugo, Nebula, World Fantasy awards and have appeared in publications including Asimov's, Beneath Ceaseless Skies, Nature, Tor.com, and the 2017 Best Dark Fantasy and Horror.
