I used to have a really long biography, then it stopped making sense. Bios are about the past and writing is a present thing. This is who I am, and what I do, now. Want to know my work? Read my books and translations. Want to reach out? Use the contact form on my website (www.fabiombarreto.com). Twitter works best. If you insist on a traditional bio. Here it is: Fábio M. Barreto was born in São Paulo, Brazil. After a prolific career as an entertainment reporter and editor, he moved to Los Angeles as a correspondent, working with major Brazilian outlets. After attending film school in 2011, he switched his focus to narrative storytelling and he's been working on it ever since. His debut novel "Filhos do Fim do Mundo" won the Best Novel of the Year Award by Argos Award in Brazil and sold thousands of copies. In 2018, he won the Argos for Best Short Story with "A Última Balada de Bernardo". His latest novel "Snowglobe" won the LeBlanc Award for Best Novel in 2020. He has translated novels by Neil Gaiman, George R.R. Martin, and others, plus dozens of Netflix movies and TV shows. He currently teaches two writing courses for narrative and screenplay professionals. Barreto is also a Recurve Archery medalist archer in Brazil and in the US.
