Erik Sass has written about the First World War and other historical subjects for general audiences, including a blog commemorating the centennial of the war for Mental Floss. He’s also the author of the Mental Floss History of the United States and co-author of the Mental Floss History of the World. A graduate of Duke University, he holds a BA in history and an MA in journalism from NYU. Sass lives in Silver Spring, MD, with his husband Alan and daughter Carol. When he’s not reading and writing about history, he enjoys water gardening, baking, and lounging on the sofa with the family’s two Labrador retrievers. His interests include geography, games of strategy, ice cream, and beer.
