Now living in California with his wife Joanne, Eric is the author of three books. His latest, just out in October 2012, is a forty year contemplation of a blink-of-an-eye instance, where the author, while meditating, left this world behind in the classic fashion of a Christian Saint or Eastern Religious Monk.
The benefit of his story: “Beyond God’s Veil,” comes to the reader without any preconceived religious tainting, as his meditation experience happened purely by accident. When he learned to meditate, the instructor never told him the extreme results that can come from this practice. As a result, three months later, Eric found himself exiting the wellspring of our being, to experience what a human being goes through before he enters into physical life.
His journey is one that takes the reader through what has to be the most primitive of human experiences. What it is like to come out of nothingness and be born as the soul or atman in Eastern religious terms and then continue on to full blown pure consciousness, to learn our true identity to the Source we call God.
This story is sure to disrupt what Christians have been taught to believe, as Eric gives a first-hand account that is more detailed than anyone has be able to share in modern times. For example, how does anyone know that the Holy Spirit is the first to emerge from God and what exactly is this Holy Spirit?
Is God a Being and if so, how is His eternal infiniteness expressed? Does one get to communicate back and forth with God? Is God best described in the Bible or more from an Eastern impersonal view, like the Tao.
How does symbolism play into the total experience? Is the Tree of Knowledge an actual tree in the Kingdom of God? And what exactly happens when the soul moves past this tree? What knowledge is gained? Can anyone know the symbolic meaning of being kicked out of the Garden of Eden?
How does Buddha’s Fire Sermon, relate to Christ’s Baptism by Fire? Is the Kingdom of Heaven the same as the Kingdom of God or are they both two different places? What are the lessons to be learned from an experience of this kind and can anyone have the same thing happen to them?
Following this event, which took place at the age of twenty one, the author has not stopped researching and reading everything that he could find on the subject, in order to satisfy his need to know that his experience was real. Categorized a mystic, based on the experience, today Eric makes himself available to help those doing prayer or meditation, so that they better understand this very personal journey from start to finish and everything in between.
With this book Eric hopes to end the current fears which lead people of various faiths to insist that God belongs to their group of religious believers alone and not humanity at large. There is a wealth of information to be had, with much of it explained in a very easy to understand manner.
