Texas native, Elizabeth Darling, grew up on a few acres outside of Aledo, Texas. In the ’70s her family moved south to Waco where she attended high school and college. She spent the next twenty years in San Antonio raising three children, serving on boards for numerous community causes, and indulging in her favorite pastime–writing. Liz insists she’s a normal country girl, yet those who know her say otherwise. In 2001, Liz was invited to serve her president and country in Washington, D.C. She refers to these eight years of service in Washington as the best and the worst of times. She held several high level positions that took her across the country speaking on the importance of serving those in need. Liz graduated from Baylor University with a BS in Elementary Education. She’s a licensed private pilot and an accomplished marksman. Liz counts the raising of her three children as her greatest achievement and the nurturing of her grandchildren, the greatest joy. She calls Austin, Texas home.
