Dr. Yvonne Johnson is a proud graduate of Clark Atlanta University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in History. After her matriculation at CAU, she received a Master of Arts in Teaching in Special Education K-12 from the University of Memphis and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Capella University. She currently serves as a Special Education Advisor with Shelby County Schools in the Division of Exceptional Children, where she supervises special education classes at several schools. Before becoming an Advisor, she served as a New Teacher Mentor, where she worked with first-year special education teachers in elementary, middle school, and high school. She is the author of Manifested Dreams and co-author of The Ride of Pride, a children’s book that tells the story of African American inventors and how we use their inventions daily.
