Doc Lucky Meisenheimer

Doc Lucky Meisenheimer is LJS&S Publishing's most promising new author, who is catapulting the genre of science fiction to new heights with his sci fi political thriller, THE IMMUNE. Actualizing both a mastery of his art of writing and an adventurous life comprised of an eclectic array of pursuits and talents, Doc Lucky is garnering fascination and appeal in his readers for stretching the limits of the imagination and human potential.

Doc Lucky has already won several awards for his sci fi thriller, The Immune, in the category of Science Fiction. In 2012, he won The International Book Awards, Indie Excellence Awards, Reader's Favorites Awards, and the USA Best Book Awards. He has also won several honorable mentions for The Immune in the category of science fiction from The Hollywood Book Festival Awards, Beach Book Festival Awards, Halloween Book Festival Awards, The New York Book Festival Awards, and The San Francisco Book Festival Awards.

Doc Lucky has sold more than the national average for a new author from an independent publishing company. Actualizing a "renegade" marketing strategy, he is being asked to speak around the country for both his knowledge and expertise in fiction writing and marketing.

When not writing, Doc Lucky is known as Dr. John "Lucky" Meisenheimer, a prestigious dermatologist, Mohs surgeon, and chief of the dermatology division of Orlando Regional Healthcare System. On an international level, Doc Lucky is known as a world-renowned yo-yo collector/historian featured in the Guinness Book of World Records for having the largest yo-yo collection. His escapades in yo-yos led to authoring and publishing his first book, Lucky's Collectors Guide to 20th Century Yo-Yos, which is preserved in the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History Collection.

Over the years, he has garnered a plethora of unusual accomplishments such as being featured in Ripley's Believe It Or Not for swimming a half-mile with his foot in his mouth, wrestling Victor the Wrestling Bear, being honored as a muzzle-loading, rifle-shooting champion, breaking world records for ear wiggling, and more. All of his eccentric talents and boundless charisma have landed him guest appearances on national television shows such as The Martha Stewart Show, CBS Evening News, Real People, PM Magazine, Nickelodeon, National Lampoons Masters Comedy Night School, Treasures in Your Home, and others.

As a champion swimmer, he has set Masters World Records and won national titles. An ASCA-certified, level 5 coach, Doc Lucky is the "Man-O-War Swim Team" (a Special Olympics swim team) coach since 1993. He also serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the YMCA Aquatic Center, which is a nationally-recognized, competitive aquatic complex. His daily lake swims at his home on Lake Cane in Orlando have seized a cult-like following. Thousands of open water swimmers have joined him for his morning swims since 1989.

As a member of the Screen Actors Guild, he is also a trailblazing independent film producer, director, and screenwriter who produces documentaries, mini-films, and commercial spots through his own film company entitled Lucky Rose Films. His most recent featurette film, RoboDoc Dissected: The Making of the Movie RoboDoc (of which he both wrote and directed) is a parody of the behind-the-scenes films for the National Lampoon movie, RoboDoc. His featurettes have been released worldwide on DVD.

In 2012, Doc Lucky Meisenheimer released a new book entitled, The Zombie Cause Dictionary (also available on Amazon) which is a prelude to webisode series he wrote, directed, produced, and starred in entitled The Zombie Cause. The Zombie Cause involves a zombologist (played by Doc Lucky) named Doc Ruger who teaches his three sons how to save the world from a zombie apocalypse by zombie hunting. The Zombie Cause Dictionary is a satirical yet informative book exploring the history and biology of zombies along with providing extensive zombie terminology. As a result of these projects, Doc Lucky is garnering the reputation as being the zombie authority of the world.

Leveraging a lifetime of record-breaking achievements, a vast array of sensational talents, and a vivacious imagination, Doc Lucky fuses his colorful background into a world of fiction where the human race is threatened with total annihilation by a biological crisis of epic proportions in The Immune. LJS&S Publishing is proud to introduce such a gem of a novel and fascinating author.
