A Southern California native, Diane Swintal grew up in a sports-minded household. Realizing at a young age that she would most likely never manage the Los Angeles Dodgers, she discovered a new passion: auto racing. Armed with a degree in public relations from USC, Diane has handled motorsports PR for teams, series and manufacturers. With a background in racing and an interest in technology, Diane and her husband, motorsports artist Jim Swintal, attended their first America's Cup as spectators in 1992. Not content to remain a spectator, Diane joined CupInfo.com in 2007, covering the Allianz Cup in San Francisco, the Louis Vuitton Pacific Series in Auckland and BMW Oracle Racing's San Diego-based America's Cup challenge. She covered the America's Cup World Series in San Diego in 2011 and San Francisco in 2012, as well as the Louis Vuitton Cup and America's Cup in 2013. Diane resides in Orange County, California, where she races competitively on J105s.
