Demetra Yuvanu was born in Athens, Greece, and now calls South Carolina home. Her life across continents has shaped her passion for creativity, movement, and helping children discover the possibilities within themselves. A Nia licensed instructor, Ageless Grace educator, and experiential workshop facilitator, Demetra has spent years exploring how awareness, focus, perspective, and choice influence the way we experience the world. These ideas inspired her middle grade novel, "Mystery Behind the Doors." Written for children ages 8–12 and the adults who guide them, "Mystery Behind the Doors" invites young readers to discover that thoughts influence choices, choices create possibilities, and even small shifts in perspective can open unexpected doors. Its companion books, "A Curious Explorer's Play-Quest: Your World. Your Way." and the "Adult Facilitator Guide" extend that journey through meaningful reflection, conversation, and creative exploration. Together, the books are designed to help children move from hesitation to curiosity, from "I can't" to "I'll try," and from simply wondering what is possible to discovering it for themselves. A proud mother and grandmother, Demetra finds inspiration in meaningful conversations, dancing, nature, and life's simple moments. She hopes her work encourages children—and the adults who love them—to approach both themselves and the world with greater curiosity, confidence, and wonder.
