David Yonke is an award-winning journalist and author whose work as the Religion Editor of The Toledo Blade led to his coverage of the Father Gerald Robinson case, including the trial and court appeals. Among his journalistic honors is the 2003 Ohio Associated Press Investigative Reporter of the Year award for coverage of the clerical sexual abuse scandal. Yonke has also worked at The Tampa Tribune and has taught journalism at the University of Toledo and Bowling Green State University. In 2012, he founded the nonsectarian, nonprofit religion news website, Toledo Faith & Values (ToledoFAVS.com), as well as a freelance writing, editing and consulting business, Writeminded.media. Yonke is a native of Brooklyn, N.Y., and a graduate of Duke University. He and his wife, Janet, live in Maumee, Ohio, and are proud parents of three grown daughters.
