David M. Watry grew up in Janesville, Wisconsin. He studied under the Jesuits and earned a BA in Philosophy and Political Science with a minor in Theology from Marquette University. Watry has an MA in History (2004) and a PhD in Transatlantic History (2011) from The University of Texas at Arlington. His dissertation won the George Wolfskill Award for Outstanding Dissertation in Transatlantic History in 2012. The dissertation was also nominated for the prestigious 2013 Council on Graduate Studies/ProQuest Distinguished Dissertation in the Humanities/Fine Arts Award. Diplomacy at the Brink: Eisenhower, Churchill, and Eden in the Cold War was published by Louisiana State University Press in December, 2014. Recently, Watry obtained an MA in European Politics, Economics and Law (2024) from the Institute for European Studies at the University of Malta.
