Storytelling is, for me, a passion. I have acted in and directed stage plays and musical productions, written songs and performed in rock bands. I've done voices in a dramatization for radio. I read voraciously, everything from cereal boxes to Science Magazine. Biographies, religion, home remedies, fantasies, and 'The Bawdy Bedtime Reader' all make for good entertainment. Machine tools are my trade, but my experience in entertainment reaches back to childhood. In the games children play I couldn't decide whether to be a Cowboy or an Indian, a cop or a jewel thief. So I decided to be an actor where I could play any part. This led to many character studies and books on subjects like psychology, history, and fantasy adventure. My tastes are somewhat eclectic since I never could pin down one favorite subject. A well told story transports me into a world entirely imagined. The mind sees and feels and lives with the characters. I am able to view, objectively and even dispassionately, the subjects that would otherwise make my blood boil. How else can one person truly save the world except in writing? By nature I'm a bit of a thrill seeker. Though, a growing sense of mortality forces me to decline those life threatening adventures of a reckless youth. Adventure, now, is mostly found in fiction, fantasy, and the telling of tales. Fantasy is best, I think, because the only things that are real are the only things that really matter; how we feel, how we think, how we cope with the everyday things that spiral out of our control. It can all be found wrapped in the pages of a good story.
