I was born and raised in Michigan, where Mackinac Island became my summer home until I was 22. The island, with its unique blend of history, natural beauty, and quirky charm, left a mark on me. Every year, I returned, drawn to the island's rhythm of horses, ferry boat horns, bicycle paths, and summer jobs. It’s a place that never really left me. I knew my creative journey wouldn’t be complete until I captured those experiences in writing. What began as one novel became a series of novels that continue growing. After leaving Michigan, I spent 17 years in Los Angeles, diving deep into the world of film, television, and digital content. During that time, I worked on many high-profile projects, including Oscars and Grammy telecasts. I contributed to "making of" TV specials on films like Contact, Any Given Sunday, and The Perfect Storm. My roles ranged from writing to editing to directing, and I collaborated with some of the biggest names in Hollywood. Those years taught me the importance of storytelling, no matter the medium. Currently, I live in Cebu, Philippines, where I lead a creative team specializing in motion graphics and animation. We’ve worked with globally recognized brands like Nike, Lexus, Disney Channel, and Paramount Pictures, as well as top e-learning platforms. The creative philosophy that drives us is simple: communicate a vision with clarity, enjoy the process, and always celebrate the finished work. Beyond running DMC, I’ve also co-authored the Mackinac Island Novels series with my longtime friend Jim. The Dockporter and Somewhere in Crime have become bestsellers, and I'm excited to keep expanding the series. Writing these books has allowed me to revisit the island I love and share its strange magic with readers worldwide. This life of creativity, travel, and adventure has taught me one thing for certain: I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be, doing what I was meant to do. Whether it’s working with huge brands or crafting stories set on a tiny island, I’m driven by a love for storytelling and the belief that the best is yet to come.
