Darren was born and raised in Southwest Missouri. He currently resides near his home town in the remote wooded area that he has called home for more than a decade. Born in Springfield, MO and growing up in a small town southwest of Springfield. If that city sounds familiar, it should, as it was the same city that Brad Pitt was raised up in. The small town that Darren was raised up in was more of a small town family oriented surrounding. His fondest memories of his childhood were riding his bicycle past the old buildings that once stood; now gone and replaced by banks and convenience stores. He shared a wonderful childhood with his three siblings; his older brother and two younger sisters. And of course his loving parents, who to this day, he still adores. It wasn't until his early twenties when he landed a great job traveling the country. He did this for eight years of his life and this is where he actually started writing. Darren has always liked writing; ever since he was a child. It was in the motel and hotel rooms at night when he worked on his first piece of writing. The screenplay for "Three Days in Vegas" was his first love of personal art. To this day, he still hopes to see this in the theaters someday. An actual quote from Darren about what really sparked his interest in writing was, "I really got my first interest in writing from my English teacher in high school. He wouldn't just teach the class and make us read books. You see, he was in a band also and would sometimes indulge the class with short performances with his electric guitar. He was a very interesting person and that made the class more interesting." Fast forward twenty eight years; Darren has rewritten the screenplay for "Three Days in Vegas" into a novella, which was published in August 2013. His latest book "1991 The Arbitrators" was originally started in 1991, hence the beginning of the title. He found it written on a legal tablet along with other sorts of items to write on. He never completed the story until January 2015, when he found the beginning of the story in a stack of notes for many different story ideas. It was published in May 2015. By the request of Darren's sisters, he has written, illustrated and published a children's book titled "The Adventures of Eli and Alex - Journey to the Lake" which was published in May 2015 also. He requested some help from one of his nieces on some of the animal characters in the book, and she happily obliged. Darren is currently working on multiple projects and hopes to get everything that is swimming around in his mind on paper and published so that all will have a chance to be entertained. As versatile as Darren's mind is, you never know what he will release next. Darren is also a fan of radio theater. His favorite is the 1938 live broadcast of Orson Welles performing the well known story by H. G. Wells "War of the Worlds." One final comment from Darren was, "I usually have some very strange dreams, and I am considered a strange person to some people. I keep a notepad and pencil next to my bed for when I have these strange dreams. I wake up and write them down so that I don't go back to sleep and forget them when I wake up again. I've been told by some of my closest friends that being as strange as I am is a good thing for someone who is a writer. I think that is a compliment." Written by Samuel Sharp
