Praise for Hairdresser on Fire: "Down, dirty, funny and glorious. LeVesque has an authentic eye for the cracks all around us, but never misses the light shining through them. His voice is true punk spirit." - Beth Lisick, author of Everybody into the Pool and the forthcoming Yokohama Threeway "Daniel LeVesque's tale mixes truth with absurdity until you don't know which wild way is up. Beating at the core of this disturbing, hilarious story is a great big clown's heart, suffusing the novel with sensitive realness." - Michelle Tea, author of Valencia, Rose of No Man's Land, and A Mermaid in Chelsea Creek About the author: Daniel LeVesque is a recovering hairburner who does not participate in the Cult of Beauty. His work has been published in the anthology Chills, Pills, Thrills, and Heartache: Adventures in the First Person (Edited by Michelle Tea and Clint Catalyst. Alyson 2004), as well as several magazines and online formats, including Punk Globe. Hairdresser on Fire is his first novel. LeVesque has been a frequent offender at the RADAR Reading Series in San Francisco, Sister Spit, and the Porchlight Storytelling Series, also in San Francisco. He has recently toured nationally for Hairdresser on Fire, reading at venues such as the REDCAT theater in Los Angeles, The New Museum in NYC, CIMMFEST Chicago, The Gladstone Hotel in Toronto, Richard Hugo House in Seattle and many others along the way. He lives in Oakland CA, with the love of his life, their two hounds, and the rubble of a People's Revolution.
