Dan Gralick

Dan Gralick is an award-winning composer, arranger, sound designer, producer, engineer, narrator, author, and inventor. Dan began playing in bands as a kid. He loved recording devices and gadgets, and as a teenager he learned his way around recording studios by hanging out and doing menial tasks for little or no pay. As a young man, Dan played keyboards in a highly successful bar band. Realizing he didn’t want to be playing in bars forever, he took a leap into the world of creating music for clients. It took him a while to figure it out, but eventually he became the owner of a New York City recording studio, and he has enjoyed a successful career creating music and sound design for major corporations. Dan produced, engineered and mixed "Grapefruit Moon, the songs of Tom Waits," with vocalist Southside Johnny (and a guest vocal appearance by Tom Waits). It features Richie LaBamba Rosenberg's jazz arrangements of the songs of Tom Waits and Kathleen Brennan, performed by LaBamba's 17-piece jazz big band. The CD was released on Leroy Records, and has received acclaim from jazz and pop critics alike. All tracks from the CD are available on iTunes.
