Craig Groshek, a University of Wisconsin graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, is an entrepreneur business owner, and the CEO and director of Chilling Entertainment, LLC, the multimedia company responsible for the website Chilling Tales for Dark Nights (chillingtalesfordarknights.com) and the popular YouTube channel of the same name (youtube.com/user/chillingtaleswi), as well as the Simply Scary Podcasts Network (simplyscarypodcast.com), with its several weekly audio horror entertainment series.
As the administrator of Chilling Entertainment, Groshek has acted as director, executive producer, audio engineer, sound designer, website administrator, scriptwriter, editor, publisher, voice over actor and author, with credits in hundreds of productions.
During his time as the head of Chilling Entertainment, Groshek oversaw (and was pivotal in the creation of) multiple iTunes 5-star rated podcast programs, including The Simply Scary Podcast, Horror Hill, Scary Stories Told in the Dark, and the former Chilling Tales: The Podcast, all while cultivating the Chilling Tales for Dark Nights YouTube channel, which to date counts 25+ million views, nearly a quarter of a million subscribers, and more than 1,000 audio releases since 2012. He also manages the Otis Jiry Channel, with 30,000+ subscribers and 500+ releases of its own. As the leader of the company, Groshek pioneered innovative programs such as monthly writing contests, a celebrity guest narration program, the Evil Idol voice acting competitions, the fan-interactive series Waking Nightmare, and Frightening Films Fridays, a weekly short horror film presentation.
In 2016, Groshek expanded into publishing with the release of Chilling Entertainment’s first collection of short horror stories - author William Dalphin’s "Don’t Look Away" - and plans to begin releasing several titles per year beginning in 2018.
Groshek plans to make Chilling Entertainment’s content available in an increasing variety of formats and mediums in 2018 and beyond, including via direct sales on Amazon, iTunes, and wherever else audio books can be found, as well as making the productions available for streaming via services such as Spotify, Google Play, and a Chilling Tales for Dark Nights mobile app, currently in development.
When Groshek is not acting in his capacity as the chief executive of his company, he enjoys reading, cooking, outdoor recreation, and spending time with his wife and three boys, and his far too many cats and dogs.
