"I told my high school English teacher that I would be a published author by age 25." Courtney was born on the tiny island of Saipan to two adventurous parents. At a young age, her family moved to the states where she was raised on an ostrich ranch. She spent her days riding horses, running barefoot up rocky mountains, milking goats, and raising giant, exotic birds. After majoring in theatre during high school, she moved to LA to pursue costume design at one of the top design schools in the country. After realizing the big city life and the competitive nature of the fashion industry wasn't for her, she returned to rural Arizona and started a fantasy art business. Years later, it evolved into a costume business where she utilized her college degree to design costumes for cosplayers, small films, haunted houses, theatre, and more for 13 years. With over 2,000 costumes under her belt, that journey ended in 2022. Through all of her passions and journeys, one thing stayed consistent. Her love of writing. She briefly pursued the traditional rout of getting published, but ultimately decided self-publishing was more to her liking and published her first novel in 2019. She might have been a little older than 25, but she did it and she has no regrets! On the side, sehe enjoys pole dancing and fitness, ghost hunting, and cosplaying and even still does some commissions for others now and then, though not nearly at the volume she used to.
