Constantine Papas has spent over thirteen years figuring out how research gets done and undone in the wild. He has built research functions from the ground up and shaped research at global platforms, gaming companies, and places where the entire research function was a shared doc and a standing meeting nobody attended. He has run studies in rooms full of whiteboards, Figma prototypes, and sticky notes (and once, a supply closet), and he has spent most of those years figuring out how to make it matter.

He has been a researcher and a research lead, and, briefly, a guy refreshing his inbox waiting to hear back about jobs. That last one was the most formative experience of his career.

He runs The Voice of User, a blog where he writes opinionated, longform takes on UX research, AI, and the ongoing tension between what organizations know about their users and what they choose to do anyway. If you enjoyed this book's tone and want more of it in shorter doses, that is where to find it.

He lives in New York with his wife, his two kids, and two dogs.
