Chris Adkins is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina and currently lives with his wife, Ashley, and their four children in Mooresville, North Carolina. They have a blended family, both having children from previous relationships, including one child together. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice from Appalachian State University; a certificate of higher education in terrorism studies from St. Andrews University (Scotland); a Master of Criminal Justice from Boston University; and a Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University. He is licensed to practice law in the State of North Carolina; the Western District of North Carolina (Federal); the Eastern District of North Carolina (Federal); and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Chris served as a police officer for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department for approximately 6.5 years as well as an engineer officer for the North Carolina Army National Guard for approximately 8.5 years. Chris deployed with the United States Army in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Chris has also traveled, studied, and deployed to over 50 foreign countries. Chris is also a North Carolina Certified Superior Court Mediator; North Carolina Certified Family Financial Mediator; North Carolina Certified Estates, Guardianships, and Special Proceedings Mediator; South Carolina Certified Family Court Mediator and Arbitrator; and South Carolina Certified Circuit Court Mediator and Arbitrator; and has conducted and participated in countless family law matters, mediations, and arbitrations. He has been through the divorce process, child custody and support issues, is passionate about helping families, and considers it an honor to have successfully represented and mediated numerous clients through their divorce, custody, and support issues, and onto the next chapter of their lives.
